Now that the annual winter meeting is behind us, we are really looking forward to closing out the ASHRAE year strong. We are please to announce a very strong meeting schedule and PDH opportunities for the next few months.
This week we will be welcoming Mr. Devin Abellon on February 21st for a conversation on Ethics in Engineering.
Next month we are very excited and pleased to welcome PRESIDENT SHEILA HAYTER!!! It is quote an honor that she has agreed to meet with us and just goes to show the relevance and influence our chapter has. Thank you to everyone who helped put this event together. The meeting will be a lunch meeting at Sedgefield CC. Please sign up and RSVP asap because we need to reserve our catering and capacity soon.

Chapter Technology Transfer and Programs
Hello, everyone. I hope you were able to be a part of what was a great turn out for our last meeting with Devin Abellon. Compiling the DL Evaluation forms, I see that I am not alone when I say that it was one of, if not the most, entertaining presentations we’ve ever had. Certainly, unique and thought provoking. Bravo, Mr. Abellon!
Next up, we have a short turn around before we host ASHRAE President, Sheila Hayter! Please join us for lunch on March 12th at Sedgefield Country Club. Register early, bring a friend, and let’s have a good showing to represent the North Piedmont Chapter.
Looking ahead to the rest of the 18-19 year, we have a couple fun events in the works including our second annual Skeet Shoot and spring golf outing. Programs remaining on the calendar include the ASHRAE webcast and a lunch meeting with local meteorologist, Van Denton, to discuss climate. I look forward to seeing you all soon!
We invite you to join YEA and Refrigeration at Red Oak on Friday the 29th at 4:30pm for a brewery tour and beer sampling. Red Oak Brewery is a Greensboro based craft brewery that offers tours and recently opened their new tasting room and beer garden. The cost is $15 per person.
The address is 6901 Konica Dr. Whitsett, NC. As it is a joint YEA and Refrigeration event, all ASHRAE members and friends are invited to attend. Please RSVP to Kevin Heywood so we can get a rough head count. We hope to see you there!
Next month’s meeting will be at Sedgefield Country Club, March 12th beginning at 11:30. The presentation will be by the ASHRAE society president, Sheila Hayter, PE. The topic will be Building Our Energy Future.
Sheila will also present Megan Bush’s Rueben Trane Scholarship. Please come out and support and congratulate your classmate.
As a reminder, there is no cost for students to attend, but you must register by March 8th in order to get lunch. When registering just click on bypass payment.
Ms. Hayter will also be presenting a different topic on the A & T campus in Cherry 111 at 11 a.m. on March 11th.
We hope to see many of you at both of these events.
