Message from the President
Greetings North Piedmont Chapter,
We have had a very exciting past few months. We were honored last month to host President Sheila Hayter. I am pleased to say that we had record attendance and definitely represented our chapter well.
We were also honored to present the prestigious Rueben Trane scholarship to local NCA&T student Megan Bush. Congratulations Megan!
Please be on the lookout for upcoming meetings and events (detailed by Rob below) as we close this year out strong!
Chapter Technology Transfer and Programs
Greetings, North Piedmont! If you had an opportunity to join us a few weeks ago for Sheila Hayter's visit, you already know it was a great turnout. Certainly, it was the largest crowd I've seen in recent memory and Sheila was very compliementary of our chapter. Thanks to all who could make it and especially to those who brought guests!
As we look ahead to the remainder of the 18-19 ASHRAE year, we have only one official meeting left. On April 10, at Starmount Forest Country Club, we will welcome Fox8 Chief Meteorologist, Van Denton, for a talk on all things weather. As a friendly reminder, this meeting will start slightly later than usual, slated for 12-1:30 pm.
The fun does not stop there, however. Here's the quick hit list of things to come:
At the time of this writing, we are just a few hours away from the spring Refrigeration tour at the Red Oak brewery in Whitsett. I'm sure a good time will be/was had by all!
The ASHRAE webcast will be on April 18th, so keep an eye on your inboxes as we finalize the details on our hosting location.
Our Second Annual Sporting Clay Shoot will be May 10. This was the single biggest RP fundraiser last year other than the Auction, and we're hoping for an even bigger turn out this year!
Finally, the Spring Golf outing will again kick off Memorial Day weekend on May 24th at Bryan Park!
Hello everyone, this spring we will be having two great RP fundraising events. The first will be our 2nd annual skeet shoot event on May 10th. This was a well attended event last year and we hope to see everyone again this year. Second, will be our annual spring golf outing. We will be at Bryan Park again on May 24th. Be on the lookout for email invitations and please mark your calenders and register early if possible.
Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA)
This month we are having our YEA Sponsored Baseball Night. On Thursday, April 18th at 7pm, come see our Greensboro Grasshoppers play against the Delmarva Shorebirds. If you are wanting to come let me, Miguel Marquez (firstname.lastname@example.org), know how many tickets you will need. I hope to see you there!
Thank you to everyone who turned out for our spring refrigeration tour this past week at Red Oak Brewery. Pics coming soon !!!
