Message from the President

Greetings fellow chapter members!

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate Charles E. Gulledge III, PE as he prepares to take the helm as Society President next week.  Good luck, Chuck, and we wish you the very best for the coming year in the face of what, I am sure, are very different circumstances than any of us would have envisioned.  For all who are interested, Chuck will introduce his 20-21 presidential theme “Digital Lighthouse and Industry 4.0” as part of ASHRAE’s Virtual Conference on July 2, from 12-12:30 pm. More information can be found at https://www.ashrae.org/conferences/ashrae-2020-virtual-conference.

As we close out the 2019-2020 ASHRAE year, I would like to thank all the volunteers that helped make the year a success.  In spite of the challenges faced over the past few months, we can look back at a year over which we held 8 chapter meetings, had record turnouts for our golf outing, increased membership, organized an outreach day to help our neighbors keep warm, collected over $14,000 for research, and are getting ready to celebrate our second Society President from North Piedmont in 6 years!  Congratulations to all the chairs for a great year.

I have enjoyed serving as Chapter President this year.  It was an honor to be given the opportunity.  We have a great chapter with a long and storied history.  As with anything, ASHRAE can be what you make of it.  I would encourage anyone to get involved and help North Piedmont continue the tradition of excellence we have held for so long.  Thank you, North Piedmont, and I look forward to seeing you all in the fall.

Sincerely,

Rob O’Berry
